Cosmo Digital: Web Site Design

While I have created several professional website designs, many of my more experimental designs are created merely for my own amusement, and have never been implemented. There are several categories on this page, including Design Testing Pages, alternate designs for clients, or personal site designs I played around with.

Unused Professional Designs:

D & K Jewelers
I designed this site for a small jewelers company, but the job never materialized. This is a single splash page with one interior page. The main focus with this design were the large hover link images on the main page.

Envirobuilding.com Alternate Design
This is an alternate design I created for Evirobuilding.com. I managed to created this very minimalist hover design through XHTML strict and CSS. This design is only a front page concept; none of the links work. There is no Javascript in this design at all, only CSS.

A personal website I designed for a professor at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. In addition to the personal aspects, this site also serves as a valuable course tool through which class assignments and documents are made available to students. XHTML 1.0 strict with CSS.

When I was plannning a comprehensive redesign of this site, I came up with several options. This was one of them, and would have had focused much more on the business of web design.

Another potential redesign I came up with before I settled on my comic theme. I like the splash page, especially since all of the boxes are created using only CSS. I scrapped this design because the interior pages leave something to be desired.

XHTML Coding Experiments:

Due to the number of these, I have not created a link box for each. These are merely my experiments with XHTML or CSS, seeing what effects I can create. Each test is a self contained snippet of code, might not work in all browsers, and probably will not pass XHTML or CSS validation.

- Test 1 - (10-17-03) Using visible/hidden DIVS without links in them.
- Test 2 - Experimenting with JavaScript passwords. code is 101101.
- Test 3 - Multiple embedded password boxes within hidden divs.
- Test 4 - Changing background color from links within a black div.
- Test 5 - A side menu where the background color changes. No tables!!.
- Test 6 - Versions two and three of the side menu. Still without tables!!.
- Test 7 - Testing page for a redesigned drop-down menu.
- Test 8 - A side navigation menu, using the same CSS in Test 7.
- Test 9 - Creation of a multicolored tab menu using visible/hidden DIVS.
- Test 10 - More experimentation with visible and hidden divs.
- Test 11 - Experimenting with a dynamic sliding navigation menu.
- Test 12 - Testing non-square images for a tab menu.
